TangoETF Signal and Some of It's Characteristics

The TangoETF signal (Tango6x) is more sophisticated and aggressive than the Tango5 signal, they are totally different!

The signal Tango6x has some good and bad characteristics, like all signals there are compromises you must make in the design. The good characteristic about this signal is that it grabs onto longer term trends and does not whipsaw during this trend. In the longer up trend’s that come along once a year or so, this signal captures more of those trend’s and is thus more profitable over long terms such as the 18 years of the FastTrack database.

In comparing this signal to other intermediate timing signals such as Tango5 it has less number of switches over the 18 year time span of the FastTrack data which is approximately 2 switches per year. Below is a chart of 18 years showing the trades (S/Y) of 1.94 per year. The Tango5 signal over the same span of time has 3.06 (S/Y) per year.. A switch is from buy to sell, two switches make up two complete trades.

Below are some chart examples of shorter time spans that show the good characteristics as described above. The first chart below is over the time span of two good long term rallies.

You can see above the good characteristic of the signal entering the two major up trends and holding on.

The next chart is from the early 90’s and shows similar characteristics where it buy’s into the longer up trends early and hangs on. That’s the good characteristic of the signal.

Just remember with this signal the odds of making money long term are on your side, and the odds of you avoiding the most serious downturn of the bear markets are on your side.
