Understanding the TangoETF Aggressive Portfolio Results

The TangoETF Portfolios make trades based on a computer automated trading system and thus the results will differ slightly from the actual brokerage trades made in real-time. The results are slightly different because the automated trading system uses the "End of Day" data and the brokerage trades are made during the day (not at the end of day).

Typically, the actual brokerage trades are made in the early morning but some are made at various times of the day. This makes the prices paid for computer trades and brokerage trades different. Also, the computer trades have no transaction fee expenses and brokerage trades have all the transaction fee expenses charged by the brokerage, this also makes a slight difference in the two different results. The brokerage trades also have a spread cost that the computer trades do not have. 

A separate brokerage account for the Moderate Portfolio and Aggressive Portfolio is maintained at the brokerage (in our case, Fidelity), so the dollar gain can be shown as well as the percentage gain. Subscribers will have similar differences from the computer trading results for the same reasons described above.

Computer Trading System Results - Aggressive

The chart below shows the real time computer trading results. The red line ETF5X is the equity curve since inception of 07/03/07 to 10/31/08 which has a total return of  38.48%, annualized return of 15.96%, Maximum Drawdown 13.83% this is compared to the SP500 (green) total return of -25.34%, annualized return of -12.45%, MAX DD         - 42.49%. This is history since inception with real results.

Real-Time Brokerage Trading Results - Aggressive

The second chart below shows the brokerage trading results.  The red line ETaga is the equity curve since inception of 08/21/06 to 10/31/08 which has a total return of  28.75% or annualized return of 12.18% this is compared to the SP500 total return of -25.34% or annualized return of -12.45%, MDD - 45.32%

 For the same period above the brokerage account is showing a gain of $11500.00. This account has $40,000.00 cash invested for the this return.
